We will learn a variety of easy songs/rounds from a variety of genres with an emphasis on learning by ear. You will not be pigeon-holed into a particular range but have the opportunity to explore your own voice.
Anyone with an interest in singing for fun, pleasure and enjoyment.
No prior experience is necessary.
Feel more confident with your singing voice and ability to listen and learn by ear. Work as part of a group.
Online via Zoom. Each week we will do a structured warm up focusing on your body, posture, lungs, diaphragm plus stimulating overall circulation. We will cover a range of vocal exercises to warm up the vocal folds and prepare the voice for learning the songs.
Backing tracks and lyrics for all the songs are available via a shared folder which all the group will have access to prior to each session. It is recommended that participants listen to the tracks before the session to familiarise themselves with the tunes/rhythms or any parts which will speed up the learning process
Through observation by the tutor, individual feedback, self- assessment.
Join another follow-on online course or the ALSS Singing for Wellbeing group/choir when we return to face -to-face learning.
For online learning you will need a PC/Laptop/Tablet or Smart phone from which to access Zoom.
