Topical subjects and issues about everyday news and activities, extending to discussions about articles, books plays and films; writing letters and emails and giving information and instructions; developing personal ideas and opinions and evaluating information.
For those who wish to consolidate their grammar and develop their speaking skills at intermediate level and above.
To be able to speak in the past, present and future eg how you spend your time, what you did when you were on holiday or when younger, what your future plans are. To give opinions about what is going on currently and be able to read short articles of news.
Be able to read and understand the written form of Polish from a variety of sources (newspapers and books) and express to others own thoughts and opinions on subjects covered. To communicate confidently and clearly through spoken and written Polish on topics relating to day to day matters – the environment and the world around us. Be familiar with Polish customs, history and literature and authors such as Prus, Wyspianski, Orzeszkowa and Milosz.
Conversation through discussion, role-play where relevant and listening and reading exercises. Grammar and vocabulary taught through topics covered. Homework given for practice and extension on topics covered in class.
20 minutes (at least) of homework for further study/revision daily for reviewing and practising the previous lesson – phrases and words/ vocabulary to be learnt by heart. Homework will be set by the tutor.
"You will be encouraged to assess your own progress with help from your tutor, who will monitor your achievements by question and answer, some written work, quizzes, questionnaires, games and some more formal achievement tests. Record of your work will be kept in your Individual Learning Plan to help record the steps taken towards achieving your goals. "

Please bring pen and a notebook/ paper to write on. Tutor will advise if a textbook is required and where to purchase it.
