Information and practical guidance on phonic sounds, blending and segmenting to read and high frequency words. Sessions focusing on the three key aspects of learning to read will give you simple easy to follow information and enable you to learn and practise the basics along with your child.
Parents of children aged 4-7 who would like to find out more about how schools teach children to read so that they can support their children with their reading.
You will need to have at least an intermediate level of English to really benefit from the course.
You will have a greater understanding of how your children are taught to read in the first years of primary school and how you can support them.

This course is government funded so there is no cost to you, but you are expected to attend all the sessions and complete the course.
