The course will focus on developing all four language skills through interactive activities & authentic materials. It will also cover advanced grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding, allowing you to communicate effectively in various situations and deepen your appreciation for the Italian language and its diverse speakers.
This Italian Level 5 Mastery course is designed for very advanced level students requiring a good mastery of the language for academic, vocational or professional purposes.
Have already studied Italian Level 5 (Mastery) Part 2 course in the language or equivalent knowledge.
By the end of this course you will have explored complex grammatical structures, including those related to past, future, and conditional tenses, subjunctive mood, and various sentence structures as well as expanded your vocabulary to include a wider range of topics, idioms, and expressions. You will have also improved your speaking skills with greater fluency & accuracy, improved your understanding of complex audio materials, including conversations, news reports, and literary texts as well as developed the ability to read and write effectively in a variety of contexts, including academic, professional, and personal.
This is an 11 week Italian Mastery course, which takes place once a week.
Learners are expected to consolidate their class learning and complete any set homework as advised by the tutor.
You will be assessed through various class work and homework activities. The tutor will assist you in setting individual learning targets at the start and will support you as you work towards them through the course.
Degree or postgraduate studies, including translation, interpreting, or further research in Italian language and literature.
Please bring along a paper and pen. The tutor will advise on any resources required.
Help with literacy and numeracy is available through the basic education programme. The ESOL programme offers help to speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Details are available from the ALSS course guide and from teaching or reception staff.
