What will the course Cover?
This Part 2 Beginners course follows on from the 11 week Beginners course in term 1. On this course you will learn basic Polish to be able to communicate in a range of settings & on familiar topics such as telling the time, giving & receiving directions, enquiring about accommodation etc.
Who is this course for?
Suitable for anyone who has completed Part 1 Beginners or who has approx 3 months beginners knowledge of the language.
What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?
Completed Part 1 or have approx 3 months Beginners knowledge of Polish.
What should I be able to do by the end of the course?
You should be able to communicate in a range of settings & on familiar topics such as telling the time, giving & receiving directions, enquiring about accommodation etc.
How is the course organised?
This is an 11 week Polish Beginners Part 2 course, meeting once a week.
What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?
Learners are expected to consolidate their class learning and complete any set homework as advised by the tutor.
How will my progress be assessed?
You will be assessed through various class work and homework activities. The tutor will assist you in setting individual learning targets at the start and will support you as you work towards them through the course.
What can I expect to go on to after this course?
Beginners Part 3 in term 3.
Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?
Please bring along a paper and pen. The tutor will advise on any resources required.
What support is available?
Help with literacy and numeracy is available through the basic education programme. The ESOL programme offers help to speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Details are available from the ALSS course guide and from teaching or reception staff.
