In this course you will be actively learning Spanish through a variety of interactive classroom activities related to the theme of Holidays in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We will cover the basic vocabulary used during holidays in Spain: food, drinks, hotels, airport, shopping and directions.
This course is a beginners course for anyone interested in learning basic Spanish for holidays or in a Spanish speaking country.
You can start as a complete beginner or with some previous knowledge.
At the end of the course, you will have the basic vocabulary to use at the airport, in a restaurant, in a hotel and in a shop. You will have developed the vocabulary on food- drink- directions and shopping. Better diction and pronunciation of the language Better understanding of basic aspects of the Spanish culture Better structuring of nouns, adjectives and phrases
This is a week-long (monday to Friday) course. The focus will be on speaking and listening. Some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Hispanic culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide an opportunity for self-study. Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set targets. This will be revisited regularly during the course to monitor and record your progress. Tutors will give written or verbal feedback.
Students will be expected to revise everyday vocabulary and do some writing and/or written exercises.
You will work as a group, in pairs/ and small groups with worksheets and different activities to develop your listening and speaking skills. Learning will be enriched using audio-visual aids, realia (authentic material), online interactive resources, and role play and the tutor will assess all the work produced in and out of the classroom.
Following successful completion of this course, you can progress onto Elementary Spanish.
