This course will cover the many benefits of regular stretching. Not only can stretching help increase your flexibility, which is an important factor of fitness, but it can also improve your posture, reduce stress and body aches, and more. The stretch and flex class is a stretching and mobility based session to help improve functional capacity, better recovery and injury prevention. Learn how to correctly activate and control important stabilizing muscles and execute efficient movement while getting supple and energized.
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to improve flexibility, reduce muscle tension, and enhance overall mobility.
No previous knowledge is necessary to join, but please check with your GP if you have any old or new injuries.
By the end of this Stretch and Flex class, you should be able to feel your muscles and joints more relaxed and flexible, with an improved range of motion. You should also experience a reduction in stress and potentially a boost in energy
The course is organised over 11 weeks, meeting for one hour once a week.
As individuals progress, home exercise will be recommended by the tutor.
Each learner is required to complete a health questionnaire and/or initial assessment from which the tutor will assist you in setting individual targets for progression within the class. The tutor will assess against the class targets and learners are expected to self assess and reflect on their own progression.
Progression within the courses enables learners to progress onto our termly Agewell courses. Your tutor will advise.
No extra costs. Please come along in comfortable and suitable clothing for an exercise class. You may like to bring a bottle of water.
