What will the course Cover?
Whether you already work in childcare or are looking to become a qualified practitioner, this qualification is aimed to prepare persons who are interested in working with children between birth to five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years.

This course is aimed at anyone considering a career in working with children from birth to five years and knowledge of up to seven years
What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?
The course has no specific entry requirements and is suitable for new and existing practitioners. There are no formal entry qualifications but you should be able to read, write and speak at Level 1 English literacy.
What should I be able to do by the end of the course?

How is the course organised?
Classroom teaching. One-to-one tutorials as required. Research activities Placement attendance of 250hours---you will have to find your own placement
What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?
Homework will be set by your tutor. Assignments as set by CACHE will need to be researched and submitted by deadline dates as set by the tutor. Set aside minimum 6 hours a week for study and assignments
How will my progress be assessed?
A portfolio task has to be completed for all of the units. The portfolio tasks are set by CACHE and internally marked by your assessor. Individual Learning Plan To gain and get the best, you will be encouraged to attend placement in a nursery
What can I expect to go on to after this course?
Once completed this qualification gives learners their license to practice and to enter the workplace as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner. Learner can progress into various job roles including: - Assistant in Children’s Centre - Practitioner in Nursery Schools - Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools - Pre-school Worker -Early Years Practitioner in a Nursery -Level 3 Childcare
Are there any other costs and what do I need to bring?
All assessment and registration costs are included in the course fee. You are expected to have a current DBS certificate. Writing materials- Pen, Colouring pencils, Rulers Paper and File Aprons and Scissors
What support is available?
Help with literacy or numeracy is available and the ESOL programme offers help for speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Student support sessions are available at all main centres. Details are available from the guide and from teaching or reception staff.
