In this course, we will be looking at some of the most famous portraits in the history of art, from the times of the Romans to the present day. We will be looking at individual and group portraits, asking about the sitter(s) and the artist, and learn about the time when the portrait was produced.
For anybody with an interest in art and the history of art
No skills, knowledge or experience are required, just an interest in art and the history of art.
By the end of the course, you will have learned some interesting facts about famous works of art, but also gained an understanding for the context in which these portraits were produced.
This is an interactive course. There will be group work and pair work to discuss works of art and we will make use of some online resources
None, but the teacher will recommend visits to specific galleries in London.
Your teacher will give you regular feedback on your progress.
