You will benefit from exchanging face to face with your supportive tutor and other students as you practice speaking Spanish and enjoying learning the language. This course will focus on building confidence in communication and spontaneity in areas of everyday exchange, developing the use of the Past, Present and Future tenses, including the Subjunctive.
For learners, who have at least a lower intermediate level in Spanish vocabulary and phrases to communicate more comfortably in a variety of situations. At this intermediate level, individuals can engage in conversations on familiar topics, express opinions, and understand more complex sentences and texts.
You will need to have studied Spanish previously and know past & present tenses.
By the end of the course successful students should be able to be more confident to: -Have a deeper understanding of the Spanish/ Latin American Culture. - Communicate on a wider range of topics and be able to extract details accurately from various sources - Obtain information from complex texts and deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature - Making hypothesis using the conditional - Start expressing attitudes and emotions using the subjunctive - Start to use colloquial expressions and appropriate style of language in conversations
This course runs for one week, 2.5 hours per day. The course focus on conversation and some short films. We’ll use handouts for some grammar exercises. Usually we’ll start with informal talking, a reading/ or listening exercise and a discussion; work will be individual and in groups.
You will be given small amounts of homework each day to reinforce classroom learning.
You will work as a group, in pairs/ and small groups with worksheets and different activities to develop your listening and speaking skills. Learning will be enriched using audio-visual aids, realia (authentic material), online interactive resources, and role play and the tutor will assess all the work produced in and out of the classroom.
You can progress onto a Spanish Higher Intermediate course.
