A general circuit training course typically covers various aspects of building a circuit. It will focus on developing coordinated movement, understanding how to self-monitor intensity & improve cardiovascular fitness and strength. The course will also cover how to build a healthy lifestyle and develop a structured circuit training workout.
This course is suitable for anyone who can cope with a higher intensity class. Also suitable for those without a heart condition who would like to participate in a circuit class
No previous knowledge is necessary to join, but please check with your GP if you have any old or new injuries.
You should be able to plan and execute a circuit training session, understand the benefits of circuit training, and be able to modify exercises to suit different fitness levels.
This course is an 11 week Wednesday afternoon course.
As individuals progress, home exercise will be recommended by the tutor.
Each learner is required to complete a health questionnaire and/or initial assessment from which the tutor will assist you in setting individual targets for progression within the class. The tutor will assess against the class targets and learners are expected to self assess and reflect on their own progression.
Progression within the courses enables learners to progress onto our termly Agewell courses. Your tutor will advise.
