The development of co-ordinated movement, understanding of how to self monitor the intensity of an exercise and change it to suit. Increase general cardiovascular fitness and strength. Develop a healthier lifestyle.
Progression from entry level or for participants who can cope with a higher intensity class. Also suitable for those without a heart condition who would like to participate in a circuit class
You should have completed the entry level class or be able to work at a reasonably high intensity. if you are unsure, please talk to your tutor
You should be able to self-monitor your level of exercise intensity and be able to change this to suit your needs.

None, but most particiapnts will engage in more than one class per week or undertake a home exercise or walking programme.
Each learner will complete a health questionnaire and an initial assessment from which the tutor will assist you in setting challenging targets for progression within the class. The tutor will assess against the class targets and learners are expected to self assess and reflect on their own progression.
Progression within the class enables learners to stay in the same class for at least two years. Your tutor will advise you on more advanced classes as necessary.
The usual Agewell enrolment fees apply. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and supportive soft shoes/trainers. You should provide water although tap water is available in the hall.
Help with literacy and numeracy is available through tht basic education programme and the ESOL programme offers help fpr speakers of other languages. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Details are available from the ALSS course guide and from teaching or reception staff.
