These sessions are designed for parents, carers, and children to enjoy together, helping you learn new skills, connect with others, and make lasting memories. All sessions take place at the Macbeth Centre, Macbeth Street, London W6 9JJ

Discover the world of traditional and modern board games! This session introduces families to a variety of strategy games, from classics like Checkers and Go to modern favourites such as Hive and Othello. Learn the rules, explore the history and maths behind the games, and enjoy playing together. Suitable for all ages and no previous experience required. Parents/carers must remain with their children throughout.

Time: 10:00 – 12:00 daily
Come and join us for a week of family fun during half term! Each day features a different category of strategy board games—from traditional classics and logical puzzles to modern favourites and deduction games. There’s even a game design session! Families will explore how games connect to science, history, language, and even artificial intelligence. Board games are brilliant for building thinking, problem-solving, and social skills.
Please note: You should attend all five sessions and remain with your children at all times.

Chess is a timeless game that’s easy to learn and endlessly fascinating. In this session, families will be taught the basics of chess and have the chance to practise and play together. Perfect for beginners of any age, this is a great way to develop logical thinking and social skills while having fun. Parents/carers must remain with their children throughout.

Already know the basics of chess? Take your skills to the next level! This session covers simple strategies, tactics, opening principles, and classic checkmate patterns. Ideal for children and adults who want to improve their game. Some basic knowledge of chess is required. Parents/carers must remain with their children throughout.
